Well, I knew something was up, when I just heard the title "new earth" and about the classes she was doing. Although I was curious, I didn't really want to listen to it, or waste my time with it.
I don't know, it doesn't really surprise me. Who knows, maybe she's the "anti-Christ", or at least his/her friend ;o) We probably don't even know what's going on behind the curtains.
And you know what's even scarrier? She is a STRONG supporter of Obama. She is pretty much helping his campaign in a way she never did with any other candidate. So, no telling what those two are up to.
You know, one thing that really moved me and helped me re-focus again was a special prayer gathering we had last Wednesday. We spent about 3 hours praying for different things. We had a little booklet as a guide - a prayer journal, that had additional room for our own personal notes. We started with song service of praise and thankfulness, and then we divided into groups of 4-5 people, and then each person prayed for those different things, so everybody was involved. We prayed for our church, for the elders, deacons, children's ministry, music ministry, budget, missions, families... each of these areas was prayed for separately. Then we prayed for our city, for our state, for our country, etc. again one person prayed for one topic specifically. Then, my favorite part, we were given blank little sheets of paper. Up on the platform were four different cardboard signs: "Marriage, Healing, The Prodigal and The Lost" We were to write on those pieces of paper names that we thought needed prayers in those areas. So, of course I wrote down our mom for "Healing", and then we all brought it to the front, layed it in front of the sign that it belonged to, and then four elders prayed over each "pile" of names. I've never seen that done before, and I thought you may find it inspiring, if you plan on doing a similar service at your church (especially with the National day of prayer coming up). Children had their own prayer service in their classes. We are so thankful for our church, and for our pastor. I've never been so inspired in my Spiritual life to want to study the Bible and pray. Even my father-in-law, he came once with us, and he's been coming ever since.
Ultimately, we have to focus on our relationship with Christ, and keep praying. We see all around us people giving in to this New Age religion and other kinds of religions, even Christians are giving in, and excusing things that are absolutely not in harmony with Bible (homosexuality, divorce, hating and suing each other, etc. etc....) The good news is, it won't be like that forever. I just hope with my whole heart that we all make it there...
OK. just remember we're thinking about all of you in our prayers. Please keep praying for our trip in the fall, for all the plans, for our finances, for understanding of each other. Rene and I are preparing to do the piano recording in the near future, so I'm going to need lots of prayers, to record it well, so it would work well for our CD and concert. I am actually very intimidated by it, and little scared. so, please, pray for me.
Time for dinner.
Love,
Ika
