This post is primarily for Hana, Zuzka, and Ika:
For the children's programs (Fri & Sabbath morning) I am planning on:
1) Singing (This little light of mine, The wise man built his house upon...etc.)
2) SHARE (Blessings/ things learned that day)
3) Testimony (one of the adults can share a childhood/adult life experience in which they learned a valuable lesson; preferably someone who thinks they can share in an interesting to hold children's attention)
4) Bible story using felts w/ questions to children regarding any deeper meanings they see (and touching on the surface meanings, as well)
5) Craft, sticker books (for younger 3), activity bible workbooks (older 4), play-doh (shaping things from the story), crayons & coloring books
As mothers of your kids, what do you think? I'm especially concerned about the older 4, interesting them in some bible activities. Rebekah's not at that age yet, so I can only guess. But I thought the play-doh would be good, since boys like to do things with their hands more than just relational activities.
Also, I'm not sure whether I should plan felts, etc for both weekends or just the second weekend. Please let me know.
I know we may not get to everything, but I like to over-plan and make sure that the kids have something to keep them interested and busy (my mom always had something for my sister and I to do and we never seemed to get bored, except when she made us take naps!).
Regarding cost, I think we can manage to take care of the things I'll need for the children's program. It shouldn't be too much, and if they don't care for whatever I bought, at least you won't have had to pay for it! :-)
Please let me know! Either here or at: kamilann@yahoo.com.
Blessings,
Annette, Rebekah, and Micah (he's at 100% for weight, and over 100% for height as of today!). He weighs 14 lbs.!
