Hi Everyone,
I would like to suggest something here. Let's stop talking about who will and who will not, or who should and who shouldn't be at the wedding.
Our mom is very concern and curious to know if Drahuska is coming. She already mentioned it to me when I was in Czech. I told her not to worry about it, because I haven't heard Eva making one statement that Drahuska would come, or Eva would like her to come.
We all have our opinions, but let's respect Eva's freedom to make a choice of her wedding guests. I am sure Eva is fully aware of the results and consequences of Drahuska's presence at the wedding.
We worry too much about something that we don't have to worry about. So if mom makes a comment to this subject, I don't know what about you, but so far I have no reason to even thing Drahuska is coming. Therefore she doesn't need to worry about it. Nobody said she is invited.
Let's encourage mom to not even consider this possibility. She doesn't need this kind of stress. I never heard Drahuska is coming, and there is no need to even talk about it, including our mom.
Have a great day.

Eva should deal with the issue of who should be in her wedding and who shouldn't be. Also, in case of our dad and Drahuska, Eva should be very clear about it with our mom as far who is coming and how is not. It's Eva's day so she should reserve the right to have people she wants at the wedding and that should be respected. She will have to consider some things. If she really wants to have our mom there, it might mean that Drahuska shouldn't be there. Because if Drahuska will be there, mom will not show up. It seems as if there is no "win, win" situation.
Consider this irony. Dad's new wife's name is Drahuska. Imagine: You have a spouse, whose been cheating on you! Then he marries the person he's been committing this horrendous act with. She is guilty of it as much as he is. And then you call her by her first name? Drahuska? What's synonym for that name. What is it that she has done with our dad?
Well, I respect his decision to have her for his wife, because he is my father. But I clearly disagree with his actions and would never call her mom, or have my children call her their grandma. Yet, I'll respect her as my dad's wife, because I respect the choice he made, though I disagree with it.
Back to the issue with mom coming to the US. I know she'll want to come and see our baby, and that's great. Just for your reference and your reference only, we don't need her to stay with us for too long. I travel a lot and Annette and our mom don't speak the same language, mom wants to run things her way and conflict is on a horizon. So, let's keep that it mind as well.
And is Rena really so eager to leave her husband and spend the summer apart from him?
Blessings,
Kamil

I can call mom and talk to her again about renata staying with me. I did tell mom that it would be a problem for her to be in the program and her response was that renata does not need much she will be ok. Just because she said that does not mean that she can come to the program. I told her that I'll be back in the beginning of August and than it will be fine because she can help me get everything ready for the wedding.

I called our dad yesterday, he was not at home so I talked to Drahuska. She told me that teta marenka had her third stroke couple of days ago and is at ICU. It affected her memory and cannot talk. Does not recognize her grandchildren. That must be very sad.
I talked to our mom too. There is something that concern me so I want to bring it up.
Mom said that Renata will come in July so she can spend some time with us. I told her that I will be in summer program so I wont be able to have her. She keeps saying Renatka will be fine she will help you and she does not need much. But she does not understand that I cannot have renata sleeping with us in one room and there is no space so I do not know what to do about this. And than mom said that she (mom) would like to stay for about month or more after the wedding. What do you all think should happen?
have a great day

PS: by the way mom said that she wants to loose some kg to be smaller than drahuska. And than she said that there is no reason she (drahuska) should be at the wedding

I talked to our pastor today and so it is ok to for us to use our church on Friday.
On Sabbath we will have 2 songs before sermon one and after sermon one. if he gives us one more I thought evka could do some solo.
The sound guy told me if we use playback to have it on CD. He said that with computer is much greater chance to go something wrong.
talk to you latter

This is so great that everyone will be here.
Lunch will be ready for everyone who is interested at 1pm.
I will make dinner ahead so I will not need to take the time in the kitchen.
If anybody has any special request for food let me know so I can make it happen.

I just wanted to let you know, that Eva & I bought the ticket last night. We were able to find one for $325, which was a big blessing (I didn't think we could find anything under 400) She will be flying to Memphis, and carpooling with me to Chatt.
OK. By the way, if you Eva need any help with your paperwork, for immigration or for Czech offices, I am willing to help you with the knowledge I have. It's been a hassle, and I know what the time frames are for doing all this stuff, so if you'd like I can help. I know how it was for me, when I was so overwhelmed with all the paperwork...
One more tip, that you might want to put on your to-do-list ASAP, some states require (other states give discount for completing) pre-marital counseling class. In TN it was significantly lower to pay for the marriage license, if you've completed 4 or 8 hrs. of counseling (can't remember how many, I think just 4) It can be done by any ordained minister or licensed counseling professional. If you are looking for lowering your cost, and your state offers it. Oh, I forgot, you're getting married in TN, right? So, do you have to get TN marriage license or WA marriage license? See, things like that would be good to be found out right now at your nearest clerk's office. But don't get the actual license now, because it's too early. There is only certain window in which you have to get married after they issue you your marriage license. Also, find out if you need to have bloodwork done in your state.
Here is what came up with a quick google search:
http://www.metrokc.gov/lars/marriage/
Bring your wedding planning books when you come, that way, if there is anything that we can help with off your list (Zuzka, Hanka & I), we can help. I know how expensive weddings can get, but from personal experience I can tell you that you CAN HAVE a memorable wedding on low-budget. It's not about the money you spend...
OK, I've got to run.

Congrat. to Eva and Cassey
Hey, guys. Hanka and I are really happy for you.
Eva, I am happy as well that you weren't married before, and that's the beauty of not knowing....
Yea, little more stress, but you can handle it.
Here is the link for the restaurant where we could have the dinner on Tuesday http://www.nazaguri.cz/
Also I want to encourage everyone to take the practice weekend seriously, and with all possible responsibility. We are not professionals, and 2 practices won't do much. So we need to do as much as possible. Tomas is already working on the playbacks and in 48 hours there is one finished, so the ball is rolling.
I look forward to the practice, wedding and also the November trip.
Have a great night

Congratulations Eva & Casey.
My only word of wisdom to you right now is: Book the church, ASAP. It may not be a problem, if it's not a church that has a lot of weddings, but you don't want to be surprised, especially since you have a specific date in mind and you're not flexible. (Maybe you are, I don't know).
Also, I'd like to wish Happy Birthday to Richard, even though I already sort of said it on Sunday, but again, Happy 9th Birthday. It feels like yesterday when I first held him in my arms, he was only a couple of months old... His Birthday pretty much marks the anniversary of my coming to America...
OK, I've got to run for right now.

Hello everyone,
you know that Casey and I had hard time to select a date for our wedding and it was because the transfer that he was promised, was suddenly taken away from him and it looked like he most likely might have to stay another year at WWU and we did not want to be married and have suddenly a huge debt coming our way.
Anyways, we prayed, and I knew that if God wanted us to get married and if He wanted it this year, He will make it happen. Most everyone told Casey it is impossible. No one was giving him hope. Finally they said that they would transfer 22 credits, but Casey was originally promised 86. Then they thought they would be nicer and decided to 40. Casey has written letter and talked to a lot of people personally and it just consumed his free time. Finally, one day he talked to the chair of Academic Standards Committe and told him that he got engaged based on his original audit and that WWU was really making it hard for him to keep his promise to his fiance, because now the wedding was postponed indefinetely. Well, this guy has been separated from his wife, she has been working somewhere east coast and he was working here in WA. And they traveled back and forth to see each other, and finally he decided it did not work anymore and he was leaving WA to be with his wife. I think he could relate to Casey. The next day Casey looked at his audit and they transfered 91 credits. More than he asked for. He was so excited, he called me, so we were able to make a date. We are going to get married on August 24, 08. I hope you all can come, it will be in Collegedale are in TN.
Anyways, please pray for us, I have not been married before and I have no idea how to plan a wedding, let alone prepare for married life. But Casey is a really good man and I am looking forward to a life with him..
God bless you all
Eva

Ticket
I am not an expert when it comes to finding the cheapest tickets out there, but my guess would be, that it will be hard to find anything cheap at this point, as the oil prices go up by minute. I think that she needs to buy it ASAP, to avoid even higher price. Just to give you an example, Johnny's mom bought a ticket to Belize about 3 days ago for $609, today it's already at $672. So, it is important for her to buy it today, because maybe today $400 sounds like a lot of money, but in a couple more days it could be closer to $500.
I know, it's crazy, and it's going to cost all of us, so I know that it is a lot of money, but you have to look at it this way, Rene made an extra trip here this past weekend for the recording, he bought some cables that were necessary for the recording, now me driving to GA will probably cost also some bucks... And I've also spent some personal money on buying stuff for this trip, so, like I said, I know it's expensive, but this may be our last chance to do this as a family, and also to do this for our mom.
Now, the boys can probably find a killer deal for you online, and I think it may be little cheaper too, if you could fly back on Monday. Now, I just wanted to throw this out there, just from looking on Orbitz, the cheapest tickets were to fly to Little Rock, AR, which is about 1 1/2 hrs. from Memphis, of course it's the WEstern-most city of all the options, so understandingly it will be the cheapest... However, if the price difference is less than 50, then I don't think it would be worth it, because of the gas prices, and also the time I would have to take to drive there twice (unless she rented a car, and then we would split the cost, and drive to GA in the rental)
OK, enough of this non-sense. Just let me know if I need to do anything.

Anybody that can please let us put our computers together and help us find Evka ticket from Spokane to Nashville, Memphis or Atlanta. Whichever will be cheaper. She is ready to buy it today. Once we know when and where she is flying than we can go from there to make more plans

Hi, so, let's talk about some details. Like what time we're shooting for on Thursday night, and then Friday. My suggestion for Friday would be come to practice after breakfast, and then maybe Subway or taco bell or whatever for lunch. It would be a lot easier than Zuzka having to cook, and then having to clean up after lunch, etc.
I also needed to know if I am picking up anyone from the airport in Nashville, because I would like to start finalizing my plans as far as my departure, etc. so, please, let me know.

ok, so I talked to our pastor today and he said that he can give us couple of songs during his sermon because they already had scheduled the special music. I think it is good for us to have an opportunity to test our selves and see how we are doing.
So Who is flying bet real about the tickets. People in our church are getting exited about you guys coming. I had to call for offering in church today so I shared with them story from our childhood and there was not a dry eye. They loved it. Even our speaker Dr. Doug Tilstra said that was a powerful testimony. By the way Zigi he told me to say hi to you and said he would like to see you when you come.
Have a blessed day

that makes sense. Whatever makes it easer. Andrew said that he can help too. My house is open for us to do it here. we should talk about the program for the weekend. Ika I think we should make schedule I think this way we wont waste too much time. I was thinking if we have it in my house I will make some food ahead and this way I wont have to spend too much time in the kitchen while we have practice.

I don't know that I like that idea. I know that I would be distracted if the boys were around, because if I am there, they'll be coming to me all the time. But if that's what you guys want, then I'll do it... Johnny might even come, and just take them away for the day (to his friends' house, or cousins house...), so that would definitely solve the problem and then we could do it at Rene's.

Yeah, plus it's Mother's Day on that day. We should maybe end our get-together with a lunch out. Or in. Whichever. Even if people have to leave Sun a.m., we can do it Sat p.m. to have a little break from practicing.
I would also suggest, that we do the practice in segments, with frequent breaks in between.
OK, here is an important question. Zuzka, how many soundtracks do you have? Which songs? I am going to go ahead and order what we need from H.S. So we have something to practice with when we get together. Please, let me know today. I'll order it tonight, to make sure I get it before the meeting.

Good, thank you all for coming. I would like to see us all get here on Thursday the 8th. Is that possible? It would be great to get one practice done that day.
is anyone (except Evka) flying and will need pick up?
on Sabbath are we going to go to church or stay at home? If we will go to church I can try to schedule a special music for us so we can start singing. But I need to know it soon. It maybe already too late but I can still try.
When does everyone need to leave?
looking forward hearing from you

practice
Hey ya'll,
I am sorry I wasn't watching the blog lately. Actually, just for a day and half and look what happened :P
Anyway, I will come to practice since I am self-employed and have to ask myself for a permission to leave :). . . Just let me know where and when. . .

Ika - Answer
I am definitely bringing the boys with me. I am not sure if Johnny will be able to come or not. With him it's always kind of a last minute thing, depending on the weather, and how far behind they are on their work. So, when exactly are we getting together?
Ika
Ika
Are we getting together or something? I must have skipped a blog or two, could someone fill me in? Well, I should get some tax return, and so I should be able to fly, if it is a weekend, or long weekend, then I don't need to take any time off, because I can work up the hours before hand (like work the Sunday before hand etc.)
So if you could let me know what the plans are, that would be good.
Eva

What we know is that Ika, Kamil and Zuzana are committed to get together. I have spoken with Rene and he said that he will be here for the practice. I did not hear from Zigi nor Evka. Can we please hear from Zigi and Evka?
It is very important that we put this together. Please do your part and lets get this practice time together.
thanks

Meeting +
I'll be there, no matter when it is.
I wanted to share with you something, that just happened to me. I went to pick the boys up at their little school, and before I even reached the classroom, Elizabeth (the director of the program) caught up with me, and asked me, if she could talk to me for a minute in her office. I walked in, and then she called for one of the boys' teachers - Ellen, and as she walked in she asked her to close the door. I thought, oh, boy, what did the boys do!!! My first thought was, that one of them hurt another child, to the point where he or she had to be taken to the hospital...
She looked at me, and started: "Today, during the gym, Levi opened the door and walked outside, without anybody's noticing." It seemed as if she was talking soooo slooowly, my head was kind of starting to spin, I had a hard time breathing, and my whole body was slowly getting numb. Then she continued. "There was a car that just pulled in front of the gym..." And I thought: Here it comes... Elizabeth continued, as I tried to imagine all the scenarios she was about to describe to me. None of them including Levi alive and well... Don't laugh at me! I am a mom!!!
I think at this point I started to shake a little. Her face was so serious.... She continued: "The man got out of the car..." Oh no!!! He's been kidnapped, was my next thought. And then she FINALLY told me, that Levi was fine. He didn't get hurt or anything. The man was sitting in his car in front of the gym, trying to get directions from his map, and then he noticed a little kid running into the parking lot. He didn't see any adults around, so he jumped out of the car, grabbed him, and took him to the church/school, to see, if he belonged there. And of course he did.
She told me, she needed to be honest with me, and that she was very sorry on behalf of the supervising staff for what happened, and then said it never happened before, and it will definitely never happen again. She explained that he got through a door, that cannot be locked or blocked in any way, because it's marked as a fire exit. And they never had a kid strong or smart enough to figure out how to open it.
I was just so thankful that he was OK. Johnny was of course quite upset about it, but I said, you know, accidents happen to even the best mothers in the world. Levi is OK, and we are very thankful, so our only duty in this case is to forgive them, and pray and hope this won't happen again. But, this could have been a totally different case. God sent his angels to watch over him today, he placed the man there in the parking lot in the perfect time. The church is located pretty much on a corner of a very busy intersection...
So, that's our wonderful and encouraging event of today....

That is the same idea I had about this song on my mind. I think it would be nice to have one more song with everyone for the concert.
Ika it does not matter to me which part I will sing. Maybe I would prefer the melody but either one will be fine. Maybe we can try it how it will works better.
Ika I have been looking for the song (trio by Heritage singers) and can't find it. Could you email it to me?
thank you Ika for all you do
God bless

I Have Decided
I have a suggestion for I Have Decided. I am listening to it now, and trying to get familiar with all the different parts, and I know we've already decided the duet and the trio, but here is my other thought.
Duet: Kamil & Rene
Trio: Girls (by the Zuzka, which part do you want to sing? Melody, or the lowest?)
Quartet: 2 girls, 2 guys
And then in the last part, EVERYBODY, even our spouses & children (at least for the concert). The song's message is about Deciding to follow Jesus, and I think it would be kind of neat for all of us to sing about us, and our individual families, that we've decided to follow Jesus in our lives. I am not sure what your thoughts were on the singing everybody together - which song, or if at all, but I thought it would be nice to include everybody in at least one song.

NO MORE NIGHT
Does anyone have sheet music for No More Night? Please, if you do, fax or email it to me ASAP! Also, if we're doing Learning to Lean in Czech, Rene could you please get the Czech music to me via email or fax? What about Marnotratny Syn? Do we have sheet music for that or not?
So far, I've got:
What A Day
Your Grace Still Amazes Me
Learning to Lean - English
In The Presence Of Jehovah
Each One REach One
I Surrender All
I Have Decided
Love Lifted Me - Only lyrics
Jesus Loves Me
Just so you all know, the girls are deciding if we should do Love Lifted Me or You Saved Me by Heritage Singers. If we did the latter, we could purchase the soundtrack, since it doesn't have drums...

This is another great song, and it doesn't have drums. I cry everytime I see it. After you see that footage from Africa, it makes you realize how much we have, and how much we take for granted...

BTW, has anyone seen American Idol last night? If you haven't, the remaining contestants did "Shout To The Lord" for opening song (I guess they did it also for closing song on their fundraising show on Wednesday). Wow, that is huge! This show is watched by millions and millions of people (the finale was watched by I think 70 million people last year). I was very impressed. Last week they had Dolly Parton singing another song - "Jesus and Gravity" I've heard through one missionary that came to our church a couple of months ago, that people around the world are surprised about Americans going to foreign countries as missionaries, when this country struggles spiritually SO much! Anyway, I thought they did a great job, and I am sure it ministered to many people around the country, who needed to hear it.
Here is a link to it for those of you who haven't seen it, and who would like to. It does have drums for those of you who'd rather not listen to that kind of music.

Getting Together
I think it is crucial for us to meet. The thing is, it would be a lot easier to practice at home if we knew what we can and can't do. I understand that some of your schedules are very busy, but I'm sure we can find a solution.
I am flexible, the only weekend I couldn't make it is the weekend of April 25. Any other time we're pretty flexible. Could you all please take your time to share which weekend would work for you best, and then we can go from there. Even if you can only fly in by youself, without your spouse, whatever works for you. I was also going to say, if it would work for anyone to fly into Memphis, and then carpool with us to Nooga, that's fine.
Another thing is, we don't necessarily have to do this the whole weekend, if you're pressed by time....
Have a nice weekend

hey
hey Ika,
I think I should be ok with the music. There may be some parts that I will ask you for help but do not worry about my parts.
I was thinking today. Yea I did. Well, I was thinking that once the summer program will start there is not a good chance to get together so I think we need to or lets say have to or must meet before the summer. So here is a proposal. Let us meet second weekend in May. We need to put this together if we want to have something that has any quality. This is probably the only time in our lifetime to do this so let put our heads together and see what we can come up with. It looks like Andrew and the kids will be in California at that time so if we meet here that would be a good time.
Ok, let us talk about this.
Looking forward to see what you all think
Have a great night

QUESTION ABOUT MUSIC
Hi Everyone,
I've been putting all the music together whenever I had a minute, and I am still waiting for some of the music to arrive (I had to order a songbook, don't worry, it's at my expense, I want it for myself). So, as soon I have it, I'll start making copies and will send it out.
I had a question though. Do you expect me to write everybody's part in the music, or do you think you could figure it out on your own? I mean, I've tried to do I surrender all, and just to do one song would take me at least a couple of hours. It would help me, if at least some of you were able to learn on your own, and then with can work with the rest. Or if there is just a couple of certain songs or areas that are not clear, I can do that, but to do every single song, I'm not sure when I would be able to get it done...
I don't have the music for I Have Decided, but I HAVE DECIDED that it's too easy (the lyrics and all) that we wouldn't really need the music for it.
OK, I have to run now.

I don't know fi you enjoy candid camera, but I saw some on you tube, and here are two that I absolutely enjoyed, each are about a minute, so if you have time, look at them, I think that you will laugh and if you feel down, it will help you to look at the world a little more positively.

Well, I knew something was up, when I just heard the title "new earth" and about the classes she was doing. Although I was curious, I didn't really want to listen to it, or waste my time with it.
I don't know, it doesn't really surprise me. Who knows, maybe she's the "anti-Christ", or at least his/her friend ;o) We probably don't even know what's going on behind the curtains.
And you know what's even scarrier? She is a STRONG supporter of Obama. She is pretty much helping his campaign in a way she never did with any other candidate. So, no telling what those two are up to.
You know, one thing that really moved me and helped me re-focus again was a special prayer gathering we had last Wednesday. We spent about 3 hours praying for different things. We had a little booklet as a guide - a prayer journal, that had additional room for our own personal notes. We started with song service of praise and thankfulness, and then we divided into groups of 4-5 people, and then each person prayed for those different things, so everybody was involved. We prayed for our church, for the elders, deacons, children's ministry, music ministry, budget, missions, families... each of these areas was prayed for separately. Then we prayed for our city, for our state, for our country, etc. again one person prayed for one topic specifically. Then, my favorite part, we were given blank little sheets of paper. Up on the platform were four different cardboard signs: "Marriage, Healing, The Prodigal and The Lost" We were to write on those pieces of paper names that we thought needed prayers in those areas. So, of course I wrote down our mom for "Healing", and then we all brought it to the front, layed it in front of the sign that it belonged to, and then four elders prayed over each "pile" of names. I've never seen that done before, and I thought you may find it inspiring, if you plan on doing a similar service at your church (especially with the National day of prayer coming up). Children had their own prayer service in their classes. We are so thankful for our church, and for our pastor. I've never been so inspired in my Spiritual life to want to study the Bible and pray. Even my father-in-law, he came once with us, and he's been coming ever since.
Ultimately, we have to focus on our relationship with Christ, and keep praying. We see all around us people giving in to this New Age religion and other kinds of religions, even Christians are giving in, and excusing things that are absolutely not in harmony with Bible (homosexuality, divorce, hating and suing each other, etc. etc....) The good news is, it won't be like that forever. I just hope with my whole heart that we all make it there...
OK. just remember we're thinking about all of you in our prayers. Please keep praying for our trip in the fall, for all the plans, for our finances, for understanding of each other. Rene and I are preparing to do the piano recording in the near future, so I'm going to need lots of prayers, to record it well, so it would work well for our CD and concert. I am actually very intimidated by it, and little scared. so, please, pray for me.
Time for dinner.
Love,
Ika

Hello
Last few days were very busy for me. I was cooking for about 90 people. Not only had to make potatoes, meatballs, gravy, green beans, baby carrots, homemade dinner rolls, Czech bread (they were Germans so they wanted something European) and sadlo but made kolacky, hrabenku, trojbarevku , 8 druhu cukrovi, but had to make even the main cake to serve 90 people. I have to say God came through. He made everything taste better. One guy came to me and said. I have to tell you I am not vegetarian and do not like vegetarian food. I only like meat, but I have to tell you that was amazing can you please give my wife the recipe I am willing to eat this kind of food. Even though this was not the most healthy food it made me happy what he said and started to think that even food can be used as a ministry. I was so exhausted last night but still have the desire to do it again. Well need to call mom to let her know how everything went because she was praying for me.
Have a great day
